UPDATE:

Emotions ran high when news emerged that nine members of the Coleman family had died in a duck boat accident near Branson, Missouri. We felt grief over the staggering loss of life, confusion over how such a thing could happen, and concern about how the family would deal with such catastrophic circumstances.

The other response was to do something to ease the challenges that would surely come as a result of this tragedy.

I announced that Christian Theological Seminary would give $2,500 to the Coleman family and I invited the broad CTS community to contribute as well. As of this writing, gifts made through CTS to the Tia Coleman Family Fund have nearly matched the amount that CTS will donate.

So thank you. Thank you for your concern. Thank you for partnership with CTS to support the Coleman family. Thank you for your neighborly care to members of our community during their time of grief and loss.

Thank you for your prayers and your generosity.

The family of Tia Coleman, who lost nine members in the tragedy, calls Indianapolis home. Christian Theological Seminary is supporting the Colemans with prayers and finances. You are invited to contribute both.

CTS will give $2,500 to the family, and I invite you to join us in offering financial support during this time of tragedy. If you would like to contribute, you can donate online or send a check to Sherrel Battles, CTS, 1000 W. 42nd St, Indianapolis IN 46208.
