Children, Youth, and Young Adult/Families Discipleship Pastor

Job Type: Part-Time (20 hours/week). Must be willing to work Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings. Travel may be required for events.
Pay Range: $20.00- $22.00/hour Employee Workplace: On-site
Key Responsibilities:
- Discipleship and Teaching: Develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship strategy for children (ages 3 through 5th grade) and youth (grades 6-12) with transition plans to help them grow spiritually from one developmental stage to the next, Teach and mentor children, youth, and their families (collaborating with the Young Families Ministry) in the Scriptures, guiding them in their walk with Christ, Organize and lead Children’s Church, youth groups, small groups (young adult/families), Join youth in attending church camp for 1-2 week(s) through Impact2818 Outdoor Ministry.
- Leadership Development: Recruit, train, and mentor volunteer leaders to assist with discipleship of the ministries within an inclusive atmosphere, Equip young people to take on leadership roles within the church.
- Event Planning and Execution: Plan and oversee events, service projects, fundraisers, retreats, and mission trips that promote spiritual growth and community, Coordinate outreach activities to engage with the local community and reach unchurched children, youth, and young adults/families
- Qualifications: A mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, Passion for children, youth, and young adult/families ministry, with experience in teaching, mentoring, and leadership, Strong communication, organizational, time-management, relational and creativity skills, Ability to connect with and relate to young people in a positive and energetic manner, understanding their unique challenges and needs. Ability to lead children and youth in high energy activities, A degree in theology, ministry, or a related field (familiarity with Wesleyan/United Methodist theology preferred), but not required, Pass background check and complete trainings in compliance with Safe Sanctuaries regulations.
