First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Bloomington, Indiana, is a vibrant congregation in the heart of downtown. We are just blocks away from Indiana University and enjoy the benefits of  having world-class musicians from the Jacobs School of Music participate in our worship life. FCC is deeply committed to serving its neighbors in extreme poverty as we share breakfast with about 100 diners, many of them experiencing homelessness, each Sunday morning. In partnership with other Bloomington faith communities, we also house an emergency shelter during severe winter weather. Our church is LGBTQ+ affirming, welcoming all into the life of our community. We are committed to asking difficult questions and to exploring how Christ calls us to live in our present context. Our progressive theology is shared in a traditional worship service every Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m., and, beginning in the fall of 2025, we will also offer a non-traditional worship experience each Sunday at 5:00 p.m. We are part of the Indiana Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
