Description

We are seeking a college theology student interested in serving within a small church that embraces a progressive, non-traditional model of worship and community. This internship offers hands-on experience across many aspects of pastoral ministry, with opportunities to explore and grow in different areas over time.

Entry Point is an open-faith community and faith leader in Central Indiana and online. We’re not a typical church, temple, or mosque; we’re a faith community. We welcome, value, and inspire all people on their own spiritual journey, and we embrace all beliefs. Discover fresh meaning in the world. And find faith, your way!

This is a learning-focused role. Responsibilities will vary week to week, and the intern will not be expected to carry all responsibilities simultaneously.

General Responsibilities (rotating and collaborative):

  • Occasionally deliver the message/sermon
  • Assist with pastoral care and congregational support
  • Collaborate in weekly service planning
  • Help prepare the physical or digital service program
  • Support other service preparations as needed
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the church website
  • Assist with fundraising
  • Additional responsibilities as needed

We Are Looking for Someone With:

  • A desire to learn and engage in all aspects of church leadership
  • Initiative and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • A strong work ethic and openness to growth and feedback
  • An open, creative perspective on what church can look like in today’s world

What This Experience Offers You:

  • Broad, practical experience in pastoral leadership
  • Exposure to the rhythms of ministry in a small church setting
  • Mentorship and opportunities to develop your voice and leadership style
  • Experience leading and collaborating in a flexible, non-traditional worship environment
  • Growth in public speaking, teaching, and communication skills
  • Deeper understanding of pastoral care, including presence, listening, and confidentiality
  • Hands-on experience with service design, liturgy, and creative worship elements
  • Experience building authentic relationships within a faith community
