Rev. Dr. Connita R. Hill

Rev. Dr. Connita R. Hill is a native of Kankakee, Illinois. She now resides in Bartlett, TN, having lived in the Memphis area for 22 years. She and her husband, Deacon Henderson Hill, Jr., have been married for 38 years. They have three children, seven grandchildren, two grand-dogs, and a grandcat.  

Rev. Hill serves as the Pastor of Children and Student Ministries (The Village) at Christ Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Gina M. Stewart. Additionally, she serves as the Site Manager for Knowledge Quest Early Childhood Academy in Memphis, TN.  

Dr. Hill has dedicated over 30 years to serving through ministry to children, beginning at the Naval Station Chapel Children’s Church in Rota, Spain. She is recognized for her creative approach to engaging children through storytelling, games, and activities. She believes that play facilitates learning. She is known for tailoring her lesson plans to accommodate the diverse learning styles of her students. She addresses the needs of her students by finding the “why behind their behavior, good or bad.  

Her educational background includes an undergraduate and a Master’s degree from Belhaven University, as well as a Doctor of Ministry in Health and Faith from Memphis Theological Seminary. She also served a two-year term in the United States Navy. 

Connita is also active in her community as a Marriage Mentor, Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts Heart of the South, G.E.M.S. (Girls Exemplifying Morals and Standards) Coach, and member of the Porter Leath Early Head Start Policy Council. Some of her hobbies include gardening, crafting, and traveling with her family.  

Dr. Connita’s motto for this season is, “The little ones you feed now will feed you later. Feed them well.”
