Rev. Dr. Mary Whitley Moss serves as the seventh pastor of the historic St. Alma Baptist Church of Lakeland, LA. She also serves as the second vice president of the Louisiana Progressive Baptist Fellowship and the first vice president of Christian Education for the Progressive National Baptist Southern Region. Moss earned a Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Preaching from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University in Birmingham, AL.   She is author of Preach Moss (2021).  Her proposed research explores the ancient prophets’ messages of hope and restoration to community in order to provide a framework for African American preaching which aims at restoring hope and restoration to present day community.  Moss and her husband, Carl Moss, reside in Baton Rouge, LA.
