Skills for Flourishing Congregations

Faith - Tech - AI

ā€œWe never learned this in seminary.ā€ How many times does a pastor and church leader say this? While formal theological degree programs provide an excellent foundation, the fast-paced world of ministry makes it necessary for clergy and laypeople to continually evolve their skills to keep churches healthy and flourishing.Ā  Partnering with expert instructors, CTS has created these skills-based opportunities for continuing education that help leaders stay nimble and up to date in a rapidly changing ministry environment.

Our Life in Common Series

Faith - Tech - AI

Theology plays a powerful role in our shared experience. Good theology breathes life into our communities. Likewise, badā€”or perhaps misguidedā€”theology can foster intolerance and injustice. While many people worship in churches where they can critically examine their own thinking about God, these discussions can move beyond church walls to truly impact every person in our community. For that reason, weā€™ve launched theĀ Our Life in Common SeriesĀ as a space to have meaningful discussion and exploration about faith, humanity, ethics, and other relevant topics.

Compelling Preaching Initiative

Christian Theological Seminaryā€™s Compelling Preaching Initiative is an 18-month certificate program for Exemplar preachers to engage in a cohort model as they learn about the theology and pedagogy of teaching and preaching while further developing their own preaching method. The certificate program includes a mentorship component in which the Exemplars will mentor and coach aspiring preachers called Apprentices.

CE Opportunities

CTS hosts several annual events that provide opportunities to earn CE hours including the Spirituality and Psychotherapy Conference and the ISPT Master Clinician Workshop. Please check out these examples of past events or head to our Events page for upcoming opportunities.
