United Campus Ministries (UCM)
Mission statement: “To provide space and support, founded on Christian principles, to students and community for a faith journey in a multi-faith world.”
UCM serves the students, faculty, and staff of Indiana State University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, and Ivy Tech Community College as well as the larger Terre Haute community. It is an ecumenical, progressive, open and inclusive ministry that historically has been supported by these denominations: United Methodist, Presbyterian, United Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, Episcopal, Lutheran (ELCA), and American Baptist. The ministry’s building is immediately adjacent to the Indiana State University campus and houses the area’s only student food pantry. The Board of Directors also employs an office manager and student workers. Office space is provided in the ministry’s center.
Work schedule: Part-time (average of 20-25 hours per week) for 12 months beginning date to be negotiated but preferably by December 15.
Qualifications: M. Div. degree or equivalent is preferred; an ordained person in good standing with his or her denomination is preferred; College graduate with church experience required.
