Marian University seeks qualified candidates for the position of Campus Minister for graduate, online and interfaith ministries. As a member of the Campus Ministry department, this individual is responsible for promoting the vision of Marian University Campus Ministry by providing leadership to a diverse student body in examining their beliefs, engaging in inter-religious dialogue and experiencing the living Catholic Franciscan tradition of Marian University.

Responsibilities:

•Provide pastoral care and hospitality to graduate students.
•Expand the nationally recognized Franciscan Physicians Vocation Program for medical students.
•Develop an online spiritual care program for all graduate and online students.
•Create unique opportunities of prayer and dialogue for students of all religious traditions.
•Organize faith formation opportunities (retreats, bible studies, etc.) for graduate students.
•Organize new and collaborate on existing service opportunities for graduate students.
•Provide leadership in the Medical Missions program.
•Integrate hospital chaplains into the ICM labs.
•Assist in the delivery of the medical ethics curriculum.
•Serve on the Mission and Ministry and Campus Ministry Teams, supporting the strategic plan, and implementing all-campus Ministry events and hospitality initiatives.
•Manage the scheduling of religious and other events in the Evans Center- OLPH Chapel in collaboration with the Director of Campus Ministry and Chaplain.

Requirements:

The minister must be a Catholic who is active in her/his faith and is competent working with persons of many cultures, ethnicities, and religious traditions.

•Possess an understanding of the Catholic and Franciscan traditions.
•Master’s degree in ministry, theology, or equivalent.
•Five years of experience in campus ministry or hospital chaplaincy or related field.
•Record of excellent program design and implementation.
•Experience in working with students of diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
•Knowledge and understanding of the following Church documents as they relate to execution of the duties assigned this position is required:

oNostra aetate
oEthical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services
•Strong organizational skills
•Strong, internally motivated work ethic

Preferred

•Competency in Spanish
•Clinical Pastoral Education certification
