Description
We are looking for an experienced and creative Music Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for music and the ability to lead others. Special emphases of the Music Director with the encouragement of the congregation include:
1. Musical leadership for one Sunday morning service and seasonal Advent and Lenten Services on the organ.
2. Skilled organist.
3. Direction and development of the adult Choir.
4. Encouragement and development of musical talent for youth and children at Messiah Lutheran Church and in their surrounding communities.
5. Foster an environment where the liturgy is understood to be the "work of the people."
The congregation will encourage and support the Music Director by worshipping together weekly and sharing joyfully in ministry. The expected weekly time to complete this job is approximately 15 hours per week. Factors considered include worship time, rehearsal, preparation and practice time as well as other administrative responsibilities. The position comes with two paid Sundays off per year.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25,000.00 per year
