The Director of Administration oversees the operations and administrative functioning of Allisonville Christian Church. This position has primary responsibility for the financial, operations, and communication aspects of our congregational life.Ā 

Essential Functions:

  • Produce financial reports, maintain church financial records and processes, and develop/support a culture of stewardship across the congregation.Ā 
    • The role will support the church’s financial leadership in monitoring the budget in relation to actual expenditures.
  • Oversee the use and functioning of the church’s facilities and grounds.
    • The role supervises a part-time property manager and coordinates with a contracted cleaning company.Ā 
    • The role involves scheduling building usage with both church members and external groups.
  • Design and implement a communications strategy for disseminating information throughout the congregation and to external audiences.Ā 
    • This role would hold primary responsibility for the church’s website, social media accounts, and design/production of internal communication tools (newsletter, bulletins, etc.).Ā 
  • Oversee the functioning of the church’s business office, manage vendor and contractor relationships, and coordinate volunteers providing clerical and communications support.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Participate in staff meetings.
  • Attend relevant meetings with church committees and lay leaders.Ā 
  • Other duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have a college degree (graduate degree preferred) or demonstrated experience with accounting, finance, or nonprofit management.Ā 
  • Demonstrate a desire to work in a faith-based organization, appreciating the dynamics (relational leadership, volunteer management, need to build consensus in decision-making, attention to values) necessary for success in that environment.Ā 
  • Share (or be willing to develop) a commitment to the work and witness of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). More information about the denomination is available at www.disciples.org.Ā
