Job Overview
Englewood Community Development Corporation is hiring a Congregational Engagement Coordinator for their Cultivating Communities in Indianapolis initiative. This person will spearhead and organize tasks related to a 5-year initiative working with communities of faith across Marion County. They will assist them in the development of area-based collective impact strategies for the economic mobility of neighborhood residents and other comprehensive community development outcomes.
The Congregational Engagement Coordinator will work in tandem with seven Neighborhood Teams across Marion County to mobilize a network of partners in order to lend capacity to the communities of faith who are facilitating the work of the teams. These teams will implement agreed-upon initiatives according to a Neighborhood Action Plan, as designed by the local community.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist in coordinating and cultivating engagement with faith communities across a diversity of religious traditions.
- Assist in data collection and management.
- Coordinate and engage with project partners.
- Attend and participate in a variety of staff, team, and partner meetings.
- Organize and participate in the facilitation of public workshops/webinars aimed at congregations.
- Organize and participate in the facilitation of Learning Cohorts aimed at congregations.
- Work with faith communities in the ongoing development and implementation of Neighborhood Action Plans.Ā
- Assist in duties related to grant management, including reporting and evaluation.
Qualifications
- Experience with or knowledge of asset-based community development
- Working knowledge of Indianapolis neighborhood geography
- Excellent and professional communication skills
- Ability to collaborate and negotiate with others to implement and accomplish shared objectives
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and the organizational skills to coordinate events and processes
- Ability to communicate and work with people from a variety of socio-economic, racial, ethnic, religious and political backgrounds, beliefs, and practices
- Preference will be given and primarily sought for persons with experience serving in African-American congregational contexts
- Conversational Spanish is helpful, but not required
