Through preaching labs, plenary lectures, and evening worship, participants will encounter the full range of what it means to stand in the pulpit with faithfulness, creativity, and conviction.\nPresented by Christian Theological Seminary, this conference is for those who take preaching seriously — and those who are curious about preaching — and want to grow.\n\nConference Theme\nJust Preachers, Just Preaching explores the life of the preacher which informs the message of the preacher. Not only is the sermon method important for preachers and listeners, but so are the values and theological commitments of the preacher.\nThis year we explore the person of the preacher, the proclamation, and the promises in the preaching — as we learn from just preachers, just preaching.\nWho Should Attend\nThe Mixed Methods Preaching Conference welcomes all who are connected to the ministry of preaching:\n\nClergy and preachers seeking renewal, reflection, and continuing education\nMinistry leaders and theological educators\nSeminary and doctoral students\nListeners of preaching who want to engage with what makes preaching compelling\n\nWe especially invite institutions, congregations, and denominational bodies to sponsor their clergy and ministry staff for an immersive continuing education experience in preaching. Contact MMPC@cts.edu for CEU group rates and institutional sponsorship inquiries.\nPreaching Labs\nEach participant is placed in one lab for the duration of the conference based on their first and second choice selections at registration. Lab assignments are first-come, first-served. Each lab is capped at 15 participants.\nAvailable Labs:\n\nArtificial Intelligence and the Anointing: Tools, Theology, and Guardrails for Preachers\nPreaching on the Fly: The Art of Homiletical Improvisation\nMarginalized Bodies: A New Approach to Preaching about Disability\nWomanist Preaching for Desperate Times\nPreaching from an Authentic Center: Leaning into the Prophetic\n\nLab placement confirmations will be sent by September 1, 2026.\nMeals & Amenities\nRegistration includes:\n\nBreakfast daily (Monday–Thursday)\nLunch daily (Monday–Wednesday)\nThursday box lunch — by prior selection only\nSnacks and refreshments throughout each conference day\nConference swag bag (early and general registration only)\n\nCEU Documentation\nEarn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) issued by Christian Theological Seminary. CEUs may be considered for technical professional development or spiritual formation. Add the CEU option ($50) at registration and select your track:\n\n CEU Documentation\n\n \n\n \n \n Track \n \n CEUs Awarded \n \n \n \n Preaching Labs only \n \n 1.2 \n \n \n \n Lectures/Plenaries & Preaching Labs \n \n 1.9 \n \n \n \n All Activities (including Evening Worship) \n \n 2.3 \n \n \n\n\n\n /* table font color */\n .wpdt-c.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpdtSimpleTable thead th,\n .wpdt-c.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpdtSimpleTable tbody td,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable thead th,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable tbody td,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable tfoot td {\n color: #0b0b0c !important;\n }\n\n /* th background color */\n .wpdt-c.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpdtSimpleTable.bt[data-has-header='1'] td.wpdt-header-classes,\n .wpdt-c.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpdtSimpleTable thead th,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable thead th,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable thead th.sorting {\n background-color: #168ad3 !important;\n background-image: none !important;\n }\n\n /* th border color */\n .wpdt-c.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpdtSimpleTable thead tr > th {\n border-bottom-color: #168ad3 !important;\n border-right-color: #168ad3 !important;\n border-top-color: #168ad3 !important;\n border-left-color: #168ad3 !important;\n }\n\n .wpdt-c.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpdtSimpleTable thead th,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable thead th,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable thead th.sorting {\n border-color: #168ad3 !important;\n }\n\n /* th font color */\n .wpdt-c.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpdtSimpleTable.bt[data-has-header='1'] td.wpdt-header-classes,\n .wpdt-c.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpdtSimpleTable thead th,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable thead th {\n color: rgb(255,255,255) !important;\n }\n\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable thead th.sorting:after,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable thead th.sorting_asc:after {\n border-bottom-color: rgb(255,255,255) !important;\n }\n\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable thead th.sorting_desc:after {\n border-top-color: rgb(255,255,255) !important;\n }\n\n \n /* odd rows background color */\n .wpdt-c.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpdtSimpleTable tr.odd td,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable tr.odd td {\n background-color: #f9f9f9 !important;\n }\n\n /* even rows background color */\n .wpdt-c.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpdtSimpleTable tr.even td,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable tr.even td,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.has-columns-hidden tr.row-detail > td {\n background-color: #ffffff !important;\n }\n\n /* rows hover background color */\n .wpdt-c.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpdtSimpleTable tr.odd:hover > td,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable tr.odd:hover > td,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable tr.odd:hover > td.sorting_1,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable tr.even:hover > td,\n .wpdt-c.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpdtSimpleTable tr.even:hover > td,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable tr.even:hover > td.sorting_1 {\n background-color: #ebebeb !important;\n }\n\n /* table font size */\n .wpdt-c.wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpdtSimpleTable,\n .wpdt-c .wpDataTablesWrapper table.wpDataTable {\n font-size: 15px !important;\n }\n\n \n \n\n\n\nCertificates will be emailed within two weeks of the final conference day to the registration email address.
