SUMMARY:Praying Well: The Push Against the Globalization of Indifference
DESCRIPTION:Daisy L. Machado, PhD\nSkills for Flourishing Congregations\n \nWebinar Description: \nThe late Pope Francis has warned the Christian community about what he called “the globalization of indifference” when we become “accustomed to the suffering of others.” This is hard to hear and even harder to believe yet we know that the daily bombardment of bad news and depressing headlines often overwhelm and make us think there is not much we can do to make a difference. So, what are some ways that we can promote a new way of looking at the work of justice in times such as these we are facing in 2025? What are some practices we can begin to engage to help sustain us and make us feel less alone? In our time together we will talk about possible ways to push back on this “globalization of indifference.”\nView the whole series\nRegister for Free Below! \n\n \nDaisy L. Machado, PhD\nRev. Dr. Daisy L. Machado is currently the Executive Director of the Hispanic Scholars Program. Trained in the field of the History of Christianity, Dr. Machado taught for over twenty-five years in the seminary classroom where she challenged her students to engage in the critical work of thinking historically in the face of injustice and all that comes with the systems that promote it. As Director of the HSP she works with seminary students from across the  nation leading programmatic efforts to expand what happens in the classroom so that theological education can happen latinamente.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
