SUMMARY:Centennial Alumni Day
DESCRIPTION:Alumni Day is back, and this year it’s bigger and better than ever! What better way to start our 100th year than to celebrate our amazing Alumni. We are also excited to invite current CTS students to this event as we foster connection between students past and present. Our theme for the day is “Making an Impact in the Age of Misinformation”. Lunch, social time, and a special Happy Hour to close our day are also planned. We know this will be an energizing and equipping day for all of our Alumni and students.\n \nHighlights of the Day\n \nVirtual Experience\nZoom, 10am-11:15am EDT\nCTS Professor Dr. Nicole Robertson will share the keynote “Self-Care in a Polarized Culture” on maintaining our own energy, peace, emotional, and spiritual health as we engage in an age of misinformation. The virtual gathering will also include facilitated breakout groups for discussion and encouragement.\n \nIn-Person Experience\nChristian Theological Seminary, 12pm-5:30pm EDT\nThis in-person event features two keynote speakers: Dr. Jessica LeCrone (MDiv ‘ 21, DMin ’24; Ordained Elder & Minister in the United Methodist Church, consultant on literacy training to help clergy address misinformation) will provide insight on leading communities with integrity in an age of polarization in “Engaging the World As It Is,” and Ben Tapper (MDiv ’19: Chief Diversity Officer for Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett) will discuss leading the way into a better future in “Seeing the World As It Can Be.”\nThe day will also include catered lunch, a panel of Alumni and Faculty discussing the day’s theme, a panel for storytelling about CTS history, and a Happy Hour for social connection. We hope all Alumni will join us for this event to reconnect with one another, celebrate their CTS experience in this historic 100 years, and be energized with community support and practical tools as we continue to transform our world.\n \n\n \nThis is one of four special Centennial Events to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Christian Theological Seminary during the 2024-2025 academic year.\n
