Student Health

Student Health Insurance
If you are a full-time student (nine hours or more), you are required to provide evidence that you have health insurance coverage. The Seminary does not offer a health insurance plan for students though you can elect to purchase coverage through the Christian Church Health Benefits Trust. You will be responsible for the cost of the coverage through the Health Benefits Trust. If you are preparing for ministry in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and Stone Campbell/Restoration Movement ministries, you are eligible to apply for health care premium assistance through the Health Benefits Trust. Please contact the CTS business office at 317-931-2320 for more information.

Counseling Services
CTS contracts with licensed therapists to provide limited therapy services for CTS students at the Counseling Center (1050 W. 42nd Street). Students should call 924-5205 for an intake and identify themselves as a CTS student to assure they are assigned to the appropriate staff therapist. (Practicum students do not receive these clients in order to maintain confidentiality.) A special subsidy program provides for co-pays as low as $15 per session for students currently enrolled in a CTS program. Students referred by the Committee on Discipline, the Committee on Counsel or the Academic Dean have priority access to the subsidy program. If demand exceeds the contracted 25 hours per week, students may be referred to therapists in the community.
