Music can change a mood. Sculpture can change a place.

This Spirit & Place Signature Series event will highlight performances, presentations, and conversations that illuminate the transformative power of the arts.

An acoustic show by Son Lux will feature the critically-acclaimed musician Ryan Lott, who is recognized for his recent collaboration with Lorde, and with artists ranging from rappers and choirs to dancers and classical musicians. Visual/conceptual artist Kathryn Armstrong, Director of the Basile Center for Art, Design and Public Life at Herron School of Art & Design, will talk about her artwork and her work in the community. Tony Styxx, Indianapolis’ spoken-word poet, hip-hop emcee, and human beatbox (born Ronald A. Craig, Jr.) will share his artistry. Performances and presentations followed by a conversation on the transformative power of the arts.

This Signature Series event is presented by Christian Theological Seminary and Spirit & Place Festival with additional support from WFYI Public Media, Community of the Living Spirit, Studio Ninety-Six, DAST Consulting, Flat 12 Bierwerks and Catering by Maarten.
