New Website Launched
We are pleased to announce the launch of the website for the new Center for Pastoral Excellence at Christian Theological Seminary, www.cpx.cts.edu. It is a creative collection of dynamic content from the five initiatives that comprise the Center and provides a gateway into a new kind of online reading and learning environment. Whittaker Wray was born to Tyler ’10 and Amanda Thompson on December 1, 2012. He weighed in at 6 lbs 20 ounces and was 21 inches long.
Emerie Lenay was born March 6, 2013 to Luis ’11 and Learsy Gierbolini. Emy weighed in at 5 lbs.
M. Thomas Swantner ’58, died December 17, 2012 at his home just outside Indianapolis.
Ray Cameron Sr. ’67, died December 19, 2012 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL.
Carl J. McClellan ’60, died December 27, 2012 in his sleep at his home in Lancaster, OH.
Josef W. Palat ‘63, died December 30, 2012 in his sleep at home in Ocoee, FL.
Margaret “Mike” Foutch ’97, died February 14, 2013 at her home in Champaign, IL.
Edward H. Sawyer ’65, died February 15, 2013 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
Harold “Hal” W. Tucker Jr., ’78, died March 26, 2013 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, ME, surrounded by his family.
Becky Hartley ’91, died March 31, 2013 in her Springfield, MO home.
Trayce Stewart ’11, most recently a CTS recruiter, has returned to the Ohio region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) to begin work toward a new church plant in that state.
Shannon Walker Dycus ’10, began ministry as full time Associate Pastor with First Mennonite Church of Indianapolis in January.
Congratulations to Judy Fackenthal ’93, who has been nominated to become Vice President of American Baptist Churches USA for 2014-15.
Kory Wilcoxson ’01, pastor of Crestwood Christian Church in Lexington will serve as the Regional Moderator for the Christian Church in Kentucky for the 2013-14 biennium.
Dan McKeon ’80, has retired as Catalog Library Emeritus from Princeton Theological Seminary in May 2008. He now lives a life of study and meditation focused on the Bible and German history.
Joe Culpepper ’74, retired from pastoral ministry in 2011 to pursue a long-time dream. He fulfilled the dream of bicycling coast to coast by following Adventure Cycling’s TransAmerica Trail from Yorktown, VA to Astoria, OR, covering 4,676 miles in 88 days. Nate Faris ’06, president of Faris Tree Consulting just became the first arborist in Indiana to achieve both of arboriculture’s highest distinctions: Registered Consulting Arborist and Board Certified Master Arborist.
Karen Estle ’03, has recently published four poems in the Wayne Oates semi-monthly notifications, Caring for the Dying. She also had her spiritual reflection essay published in the current Journal of Palliative Medicine.
Rev. Allissa Santoro Williams ’12, is a Mental Health Clinician at Hamilton Center in Brazil, IN. Allissa is trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Play Therapy with children, but utilizes many other modalities as well. She serves on the board of the Midwest American Association of Pastoral Counselors and specializes in grief and loss issues.
