Financial Aid Application Priority Dates

Fall Semester (New and returning students) - FAFSA must be received by Federal processor on or before April 1st.

Spring Semester (New students) - FAFSA must be received by Federal processor on or before October 1st.

If this is the first time that you are filing the FAFSA, we recommend that you request a Personal Identification Number (PIN) so that you can sign your FAFSA electronically.  You can apply for your PIN electronically at www.pin.ed.gov.  Once you have received your PIN, keep it in a secure place as you will need this PIN each year to complete an electronic FAFSA.  If you have previously received a federal PIN but have misplaced or forgotten it, you may request a duplicate PIN at the above listed website.

You can apply electronically without a PIN but then you must print the signature page, sign it and mail it to the federal processor at the address on the signature page.  This will significantly increase the time it takes to process your FAFSA.

Once you have completed your FAFSA, you will receive notification from the U.S. Department of Education stating that your application has been processed.  If you filed the FAFSA electronically, you should receive an e-mail notification of processing within 72 hours.  If you filed using the paper application, you will receive confirmation through the mail in approximately 4-6 weeks,

Approximately 30% of all FAFSA's are selected for verification.  If yours is selected, you will receive a letter from our office telling you what documents you will need to submit to us. (Click here for Verification Policy).
