The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed in order to apply for CTS Grants, Federal Work-Study and Federal Direct Stafford Loans. You must complete a new FAFSA each year (see Financial Aid Application Priority Dates).
The FAFSA can be filed electronically through the FAFSA website . When completing the FAFSA, you must request that a copy of the processed form be sent to our office by listing Christian Theological Seminary, school code G01789, in Section 6.
Determining Financial Need
Your eligibility for CTS Grants, Federal Work-Study, and Federal Direct Subsidized Stafford Loans is based on your financial need. The following formula is used to determine financial need:
CTS Cost of Attendance (COA)
-Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
= Financial Need
CTS Cost of Attendance includes your tuition and fees, and allowances for books & supplies, loan fees, room & board, transportation and miscellaneous expenses (medical/dental, clothing, insurance, etc.). Actual cost of attendance figures can be found at Financial Aid Budgets.
Expected Family Contribution is calculated from the information you report on the FAFSA and according to a formula established by law. Your (and your spouse's, if married) income (taxable and untaxed) , assets, family size and number in college or career school are considered in this formula.
