The Federal Work-Study Program provides jobs for students with financial need, allowing you to earn money to help pay educational expenses. Employers arrange work schedules around your academic schedule. You must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for the Federal Work-Study Program.
If a Federal Work-Study (FWS) award is listed on your Financial Aid Notification, it is important to realize that the amount of this award is the maximum amount you may earn and is not a guarantee of a job nor a guaranteed amount of earnings. A FWS award allows you to be considered for FWS jobs on campus or with a community service employer. The supervisors of these positions interview prospective employees and make the final hiring decisions.
