Heritage Collections

Sarah BostickThe Heritage Collections and CTS archives contain superior research collections related to the Stone-Campbell, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) traditions in all their manifestations as well as regional, national and global documentary history. More than 6,000 monographs and over 5,000 bound volumes of periodicals form the core of these collections; microforms of several thousand more monographs and periodicals are also maintained. Approximately 1,500 tracts and pamphlets gathered and bound, and an additional several hundred as yet unprocessed and cataloged are also available for research purposes. Much of this primary source material is unique to the CTS collection. A select and distinguished collection of rare books dating from the 16th century forward, more than 600 theses and dissertations produced by degree candidates of the Butler School of Religion and CTS (many of whom have produced significant work on significant persons, institutions, agencies and missions among Disciples and related groups), form another component  of the Heritage Collections. Historically significant artifacts, audio and video media, electronic data files, and photographs are also held in the collections.
