Doctor of Ministry in Church and Community Leadership

The Doctor of Ministry in Church and Community Leadership (DMin) degree program at CTS is an advanced course of study that provides leaders with an opportunity to integrate their experience in ministry with advanced academic study. Program participants develop enhanced skills for more effective ministry.

Program Highlights
  • Customizable course selection – of the 33 credit hours required, only 9 come from required cohort-based seminars. 18 are electives of the student’s choosing, and 6 come from dissertation research and writing
  • Courses offered in diverse modalities – courses are offered in multiple formats including hybrid classes, week-long intensives, and independent study with a CTS faculty member
  • Personal support and guidance – CTS faculty members provide individual support as you complete a Project in Ministry (PIM) and dissertation
Pre-requisites
  • MDiv or educational equivalent from a theological school accredited by the Association of Theological Schools or its educational equivalent
  • At least three years of experience in ministry, and active employment in ministry at the time of application
  • Cumulative grade point average in all previous academic work of at least 3.0
  • For applicants whose native language is other than English, proficiency in the English language as demonstrated by a score at least 90 on the internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a 600 on the paper-based exam
