(Re)Defining Motherhood: A Group for New Moms & Their Babies

(Re)Defining Motherhood is a six-week, semi-structured group that will empower you to write the first chapter in the story of your life as a mom and to build a positive foundation for all the chapters to come.  Themes we will explore through activities, exercises, and conversations include: describing who you want to become as a mom; setting aside the pressures, worries, and self-doubt to discover more joy and less fear in caring for your child; finding and nurture yourself amidst the changes and demands of motherhood.

Join us to find the connection, meaning, and laughter that will carry you and your baby through these first dizzying months of motherhood.  Group meets Thursday mornings from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm from February 19, 2015 through March 26, 2015 at the CTS Counseling Center.  Cost is $5 per group meeting, fee reductions may be available in cases of financial hardship.

Aging Adventurers: Valuing Ourselves, Our Experiences, and All We Have to Offer

Aging Adventurers is a twelve-week group for persons retirement age and beyond living into life’s changes and challenges as we age.  Join in this chance for life review, lifting up and celebrating our achievements, and recognizing how they can enrich and empower us here and now.  As American writer and activist Betty Friedan noted, “Aging is not lost youth but a new stage of opportunity and strength.”  We will explore together through weekly activities and sharing how our experiences and relationships have shaped us throughout our life journeys, enabling us to meet challenges and find joy, despite our losses.

Aging Adventurers will meet from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Saturday mornings from September 19 through December 12, except Thanksgiving weekend, at Christian Theological Seminary Counseling Center. Prospective participants in this group will be invited to meet for a free a pre-screening interview with group leaders.  A nominal fee will be charged for each group session.

For further details and to register for Aging Adventurers, please contact group facilitators Cynthia Drouin and Rachel Heinhuis, Phone: (317) 931-2379, extension 5124 or 5128.
